They estimate that Qiddiya will attract around 17 million tourists to Saudi Arabia by 2030 and become the world’s largest tourism and entertainment hub.

Since 2023, more than 45 sub-projects have been completed in the first phase of this project. Over the past six years, Saudi Arabia has collaborated with the University of Central Florida (UCF) to train students, recent graduates, and young local people in hospitality, tourism, and sports management. This collaboration ensures comprehensive management of all aspects of Qiddiya.

Qiddiya will be a cutting-edge smart city that offers everything needed to meet tourism, entertainment, and various sports competition needs. Located on an island near the heart of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, it will welcome tourists and athletes from around the world to experience unique offerings never seen before.

Visitors will have various entertainment options, including race tracks for MotoGP and Formula 1 racing or visiting the “Six Flags amusement park” with the “world’s largest and longest roller coaster.” A “Dragon Ball-themed amusement park will also be created in collaboration with the Japanese studio Toei Animation, offering an unprecedented experience with the famous anime.

Another highly anticipated feature is a city designed for gamers, bringing fantasy elements from over 30 global game studios and more than 25 famous esports organizations together in one place. They intend to provide easy access for visitors to these gaming and esports features. However, this is just the beginning, as the full potential of esports in Saudi Arabia will be revealed in the coming years.

In summary, if we say that Saudi Arabia is poised to become an “esports powerhouse,” it is not an exaggeration. They have a long-term vision and expect the industry to grow continuously, seeing opportunities to generate revenue from competition and global engagement. They focus on game developers, esports competitions, famous clubs worldwide, and all stakeholders in the esports industry. They are already positioning themselves as a one-stop service for the industry today and shortly.

Thus, they plan to adapt to industry changes and seize new opportunities to dominate the esports market. Their hosting of the “Esports Olympics” for the first time in their home country, with a contract extending for another 12 years, demonstrates their serious commitment.
